The NeildaVerse #26
Meeting Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, the state of the Creator Economy, and final atomic essays from my writing class
Hi friends!
I want to start off by saying that I miss you all! The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind between my grad school graduation, a mini-vacation to San Diego, and days of road-tripping from SoCal back to the SF Bay Area. I also stopped by to spend time with friends I haven’t seen in years! Writing on the road was definitely a challenge.
So after disappearing for a week, I’m excited to share this newsletter with you. Especially those in my post-WOP writing group who use this newsletter to remind them to publish theirs. You know who you are! 😉
Here's what I want to share this week:
🖋️ Quote of the week
“Hard things are hard because there are no easy answers or recipes. They are hard because your emotions are at odds with your logic. They are hard because you don’t know the answer and you cannot ask for help without showing weakness.”
― Ben Horowitz, The Hard Thing About Hard Things
🚀 Published atomic essays
Last Sunday was the last day of the Ship 30 for 30 challenge. My feeling of accomplishment after writing and publishing first thing in the morning and the panic of rushing to ship my atomic essay of the day right before midnight is done! I’ve learned a lot and now embrace how writing is a part of my life. During the last week, I published a combination of Twitter threads and atomic essays. Here are the atomic essays
👩🏾💻 What I'm reading
There’s a new report about the state of the creator economy in 2022 by Influencer Market Hub. It highlighted how COVID-19 was a significant contributor to its growth as creators wanted to find ways to make money, and everyone was stuck at home and looking for content to consume. More than 50 million people worldwide consider themselves to be creators, but 46.7 million of them are amateur creators, and 2 million + are professional creators. The difference is whether the creator can live from their earnings. Check this report out to learn more about how creators make money and the startups helping them make it happen.

This was unexpected, but Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine handed me my Master's diploma. What a great way to wrap up my grad school journey!
